 Guide

Even though Southern Utah is distinctively a desert environment, there aren't too many traditional sand dunes.  One of the largest ones is located here inside Snow Canyon State park, ready for the whole family to come and enjoy.

The sand is perfect for kicking off your shoes, sitting down, and wiggling your toes until buried.  Kids can run around until tired, and build sand sculptures as long as they want.

The dunes should be avoided during the heat of summer, since the sun can heat the sand well past the point of discomfort.  Enjoy it the rest of the year though!
