One of the newest bodies of water in Southern Utah, Sand Hollow Reservoir is located right at the heart of Sand Hollow State Park. This 1300 acre lake is great for sport fishing, jetskiing, waterskiing/wakeboarding, and all kinds of other water fun. A red rock island in the middle of it all provides the final touch to set this reservoir above all the rest.

 Guide

Looking for a place close to home where you can scrunch your toes into bright red sand, and then jump off of red rock into warm blue water?  Sand Hollow is just what you are looking for!  Part of Sand Hollow State Park, this reservoir is a great place to spend some time on the water.  The reservoir is one of the newer reservoirs in the state, and was just completed in 2002.  From camping on the beach to fishing to water sports, there is plenty to do here.

For fishing, the reservoir is stocked with bluegill, largemouth bass, and some bullhead catfish.  8-16 inch bass are very common, with some to be caught as large as 5 lbs.

For boaters, the warm water invites everyone looking to cruise on the water, or for someone looking for fun in the form of tubing, skiing, wakeboarding, or wakesurfing.  Personal watercraft are also very common.

Shore activities can including camping and picnicing; a dedicated area near the boat ramp is available for swimmers, kayakers, and paddleboarders.  A small red rock island is within range for many of these activities.

Whatever you are looking for on the water, Sand Hollow Reservoir offers it.  Nearby rentals can help get you outfitted for a reasonable cost as well.
