Snow Canyon Guide

Jennys Canyon

 (3.5)

Jennys Canyon image

Jenny's Canyon is perhaps the most accessible slot canyon in all of Southern Utah. Just a few minutes drive from the south entrance to Snow Canyon State Park, and just a 5 minute jaunt from the road, this trail barely counts as a hike at all. Great for kids, inexperienced hikers, or anybody who wants to experience a slot canyon without needing to mess with any of the ropes, water, or hassle that accompanies most in the area. If you are in the area of the park, this is a must-do.

The end point of this trail is some "graffiti" left behind by some of the earliest settlers to the area about 100 years ago. Visitors would come to the canyon to see the natural sights, to picnic, and to make their mark on the canyon walls. Visible as part of a short, 1 mile loop or as an even shorter hike of just a few hundred yards, this sight can be seen from the road but is best viewed as closely as you feel comfortable getting.

Sand Dunes (Snow Canyon)

Sand Dunes (Snow Canyon) image

Southern Utah isn't known for long, expansive beaches or salty waves lapping up against the shore - but if you know where to look there can be plenty of Sand. These sand dunes are inside Snow Canyon State park, and despite a complete lack of ocean they can be a fun place to spend an afternoon as a family.
